Alex Peh & Chia-Lin Yang, doctoral candidates from Indiana University, will perform piano duo transcriptions of Stravinsky's Petroushka, Ravel's Le Tombeau de Couperin and Pavane pour une infante défunte, and Gershwin's Preludes and his masterpiece, Rhapsody in Blue.
This recital marks the second in the West Valley College Young Artist Concert Series, established as a forum for graduate and doctoral candidates from universities and conservatories across the country. The intent is to offer an opportunity to talented musicians to perform before a Bay Area audience, and to present young artists to the West Valley community before they "hit the big time."
The West Valley College Chamber Singers, left, will perform in Season Finale on May 21 at Saratoga Federated Church, 20390 Park Place (off Saratoga Ave, one block north of Hwy 9 intersection).
Members of the Chamber Singers and West Valley Masterworks Chorale, below left, will perform in Carnegie Hall in late June 2009. For more information, please call the WVC Choral Office, 408-741-4663.
